Job Title: Discovery Legal Assistant
Department: Discovery Team
Reports To: Supervising Attorney
Position Details: Full Time; (40 hours/work week); Hourly; Nonexempt)

Overall Descriptions of the Position:
Legal Assistants in the Discovery Department at The Gori Law Firm will perform clerical duties including, but not limited to, saving documents, extracting information, inputting data entry received.
Position Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of clerical or legal experience
  • Competent to Proficient knowledge and demonstrated skill set in:
    • MS Office Word, Excel, and Adobe
    • Typing, saving and calendaring events
    • Filing, organizing, and processing data
    • Reading and processing information from text and online sources
    • Proofing documents for spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Ability to type quickly and accurately
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers
  • Self-motivated and well-organized
  • Customer Service skills preferred
  • Punctual and predictable attendance
  • Job duties must be regularly performed in the office
Position Duties (including, but not limited to):
  • Manage and Prioritize email requests from other departments.
  • Search and Review electronic data systems for client specific information.
  • Keep an organized list of cases based on department needs.
  • Send emails in a timely manner and respond accordingly as needed.
  • Save documents into document and client management software.
  • Organize work tasks in a sequential and detail-oriented fashion to prevent missed deadlines, and catch spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers and other team members within the Firm.
Education, Certificates and Licenses:
  • High School Diploma or GED required, Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check.
