Job description

Senior Learning Manager
Leads the design, development, and execution of strategic learning initiatives that builds organizational capability and accelerate business performance. Partners directly with business leaders to assess learning needs and identify development solutions aligned to business objectives.
This role manages key learning programs and workstreams, driving the creation of new skillsets, onboarding frameworks, and functional training. The individual will lead a team and influence stakeholders to deliver measurable learning outcomes.
The ideal candidate would be a strategic thinker, problem solver, experienced facilitator and a relationship builder who is adept at innovating and staying agile in approach while managing risk and exercising good judgment. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent project and program management skills and is able to navigate autonomously in an ambiguous, fast-paced and matrixed environment. The individual will have the opportunity to coach, mentor and manage junior associates on the team.
General Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and execution of learning solutions aligned to the businesses strategies, with a focus on building specialized capabilities and accelerating associate development
  • Proactively meet with internal business clients to fully understand their business strategies and learning needs
  • Identify and design integrated learning solutions to fill performance and development gaps using adult learning methodologies and training techniques
  • Provides strategic direction and coaching for team
  • Monitor the work of other learning resources working on mutual projects and provide feedback, coaching and guidance as needed
  • Coach and support junior learning professionals to grow their consulting and learning design capabilities

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 3 years of experience working in the learning & development industry
  • At least 3 years of experience in learning consultation
  • At least 3 years of experience in learning curriculum design and development
  • At least 3 years of experience managing the execution of training programs

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Adult Education or Human Resources
  • 5 years of experience in training needs assessment and design
  • 5 years of experience in client consulting / performance consulting
  • 5 years of leading project teams
  • 3 years of experience in Commercial Banking

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $163,900 - $187,100 for Sr. Learning Manager
Riverwoods, IL: $149,000 - $170,000 for Sr. Learning Manager
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
