Job Summary:
This position will assist the press operator in the set up and operating of the printing press to produce defective free products by doing efficient set ups, operating and changing over of the press following CCL's Standard Operating Procedures and provide product that is within established guidelines regarding feet run per hour, waste standards and quality values
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Stage all necessary components for the job, and ensure components are clean and in good operating condition and that secondary material are maintained to prevent downtime.
  • Brings staged materials and tooling to press area
  • Obtain color STD and SMP for current item
  • Read docket and verify all ink, materials and dies are correct
  • Load material on unwind and issue job in Syman
  • Load die into die cassette and die cassette into press
  • Check die to make sure it is in good working order
  • Install aniloxes and inks according to SMP
  • Scan inks into Syman
  • Replace used doctor blades in holders and install in print stations.
  • Remove print cylinders and wash up stations
  • Perform preventative maintenance on the press and ancillary equipment
  • Maintains a clean work area.
  • Completion of required product and process audits.
  • Operates pallet lifts, jacks, cranes and other lifting equipment as needed for material and product movement.
  • Properly complete all documentation required on the computer or by hand to track the job.
  • Properly use computer to enter/retrieve job specific information and complete/reference training documents.
  • Perform tasks assigned by others in a diverse and varied work environment.
  • Follows cGMP policy and Standard Operating Procedure
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Good mechanical aptitude and skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals quickly and correctly.
  • Skill in practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
  • Skill in performing measurement operations with units in imperial and metric systems.
  • Ability to measure with exceptional accuracy using various measurement tools.
  • Able to read, interpret and follow documents such as work instructions, safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures, and maintenance instructions/manuals to properly perform work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems.
  • Willingness and ability to work with other team members and management.
  • Strong work ethic and good attitude towards work.
  • Honest, reliable team player.
  • Safety conscious and comply with all general safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company, State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 6 months or more experience in manufacturing environment (preferred)

Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms above and below shoulder level
  • Regularly stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Regularly communicate in some manner either by speech/hearing or through written communication.
  • Regularly use of vision abilities including close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly work around moving machinery and heavy equipment.
  • Frequently required to push/pull.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently exposed to high-speed moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequently exposed to UV, strobing or flashing light.
