Job description

The Kitchen Steward plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen by washing equipment, cleaning floors, and ensuring the overall hygiene of the back-of-house environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a professional kitchen setting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils
  • Maintain safe and tidy work areas by clearing debris, boxes, and misplaced equipment
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors using safe cleaning practices
  • Manage kitchen waste and recycling systems, ensuring proper disposal
  • Organize and safely store clean kitchen equipment
  • Support chefs and other kitchen staff with cleaning and prep area maintenance
  • Complete additional cleaning or support tasks as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications:
  • Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching
  • Comfortable using hands to grip, handle, reach, and carry objects
  • Capable of safely lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally
