This is an exciting opportunity to join our public affairs team and gain experience working with the leading brands and innovators of the new economy. ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As a Junior Associate with the Glen Echo Group Public Affairs team, you will...

  • Support the development and execution of advocacy campaigns and assist with client communication.
  • Develop a foundational understanding of the policy landscape and client industries
  • Build introductory relationships with media contacts in national, political, technology and trade outlets across various platforms (print, broadcast, online).
  • Assist in drafting client communications materials such as press releases, fact sheets and web content.
  • Monitor Congressional hearings and other advocacy events and provide comprehensive analysis for clients.
  • Learn to use industry-standard tools for client service, including data and analytics, social media monitoring and industry research.
  • Help implement processes for tracking and basic analysis of media coverage (print, broadcast and online).
  • Support the team and help to plan client events.
  • Be a leader and brand ambassador inside and outside Glen Echo Group.

Essential skills:

  • Internship or 1 year of other relevant professional experience in strategic communications from working in politics, government, or advocacy, or with a PR agency, media outlet or in-house communications team.
  • A background and strong interest in public policy issues, particularly as they relate to the internet and technology.
  • Excellent writing skills as well as a solid understanding of and experience working with digital platforms and tools.
  • The ability to take initiative and work independently in a highly collaborative environment.
  • A "team-first" approach with an ability to contribute to client teams and be seen as a trusted contributor.
  • The ability to function at a high level on tight deadlines and with changing priorities and serve as a day-to-day resource.
  • Attention to detail, enthusiasm, creativity and desire to work hard and contribute to a great team.

Salary range (commensurate with experience and skills): $50,000-$60,000 annually.ย
