Junior Accounting Specialist
Location: Fairbanks, AK
Pay: $18.00–$22.00 per hour DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Put your bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting skills to work in a role that offers variety, responsibility, and hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting and administrative support functions.

Join a collaborative team where accuracy, organization, and attention to detail help support the organization's financial operations. You'll take on a variety of accounting and administrative responsibilities while working with payroll, accounts payable, bookkeeping, financial records, reconciliations, and other day-to-day accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely accounting and administrative support
  • Assist with bookkeeping, payroll processing, and daily accounting functions
  • Process accounts payable, vendor payments, deposits, and expense allocations
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation using QuickBooks
  • Reconcile credit card statements, fuel receipts, petty cash, and other financial transactions
  • Prepare payroll entries and maintain payroll records
  • Assist with financial reporting, audits, Medicaid claims, and supporting documentation
  • Maintain organized accounting files and ensure financial information is complete and accurate
  • Collaborate with team members to support daily accounting operations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Up to two years of bookkeeping, accounting support, payroll, accounts payable, or administrative finance experience preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required; QuickBooks experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling financial and payroll information
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet recurring deadlines, and work independently
  • Background screening is part of the hiring process
