We are seeking a Medical Data Coder Lead to support the Lifetime Surveillance of Astronaut Health (LSAH) at the Johnson Space Center (JSC). \n

What You'll Do:<\/span><\/b> You will be a member of LSAH, a team who is responsible for enhancing astronaut medical records by incorporating outside provider records into our internal medical record. You will apply your medical records coding experience to perform health information management and medical coding functions including ICD and\/or SNOMED. You will provide leadership oversight of the work of one additional medical coder. \n

What You Bring: <\/span><\/b>The Medical Data Coder Lead will bring experience working with a diverse array of medical records, electronic health records and software. You will have coding capabilities and will have certified professional coder credentials. You will rely on your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish the goal of coding a large variety of records so that data can be reused by epidemiologists and researchers for understanding astronaut health.   • Chart review, abstraction, quality control and data entry of medical records from paper and electronic sources into the JSC electronic health record (EHR) and customized database software<\/span>\n

  • Review medical record forms for completeness and work with medical providers to obtain missing data<\/span>\n

  • Perform quality assurance and incorporation of medical reports from onsite and external physicians and consultants into the EHR and customized databases<\/span>\n
