The Opportunity

About the Team
The Global IT Operations team at Nutanix is dedicated to delivering exceptional technology services to employees and contractors globally across all regions. This role, based in San Jose will lead our AMER region. This team fosters a collaborative and innovative culture that prioritizes a "customer first" strategy, ensuring that the needs of internal customers are met with efficiency and effectiveness. The team is focused on maximizing technology efficiencies while minimizing manual interventions, all while navigating the ever-evolving landscape of technology, people, and processes.
You will report to the Sr. Manager - Global IT Operations, who is known for their hands-on leadership style that emphasizes collaboration and team empowerment. This role is classified as hybrid, requiring the hire to work in the office three days a week while also providing flexibility to work remotely as needed.
The position involves travel expectations of 10% to 20%, allowing for opportunities to engage with teams and stakeholders across the region while contributing to the overarching goals of the IT department.
Your Role
  • Oversee the AMER IT Operations team to ensure exceptional service delivery aligned with business needs.
  • Develop and execute the IT strategy to enhance operational efficiency and prioritize customer success metrics.
  • Foster collaboration with internal departments and regional executives to align IT solutions with organizational goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships, procurement processes, and asset management for IT operations.
  • Continuously evaluate and innovate supported technologies, system life cycles, and support processes.
  • Communicate effectively with IT customers in the AMER region regarding announcements, updates, and service improvements.
  • Lead by example in hiring, coaching, and performance management of the distributed IT Operations team.
  • Achieve key first-year objectives around service quality metrics, team engagement, and operational improvements.

What You Will Bring
  • 5+ years of technical management experience in a modern technology environment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders across all company levels.
  • Strong knowledge of IT operations, incident and change management, and related methodologies.
  • Experience with vendor, procurement, budget, and asset management.
  • Familiarity with IT systems and tools for employee productivity (e.g., ServiceNow, OKTA, Slack, O365, MDM, JAMF, Intune).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of conference room technologies, telephony systems, and network solutions.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Track record of driving technical innovation while fostering a positive team atmosphere.

Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $104,000 and USD $207,600 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
