An Internship in Programmatic Advertising is a temporary, entry-level position where students or recent graduates learn about the automated buying and selling of digital advertising space. Interns typically assist with campaign setup, data analysis, and reporting, while gaining hands-on experience with ad platforms and tools. This role helps interns develop a strong understanding of digital marketing, data-driven decision making, and the latest trends in online advertising. Internships often serve as a stepping stone to a full-time career in digital advertising or marketing.

What are some typical projects or tasks an intern in programmatic advertising can expect to work on?

As a Programmatic Advertising intern, you can expect to work on tasks such as assisting with the setup and optimization of digital ad campaigns, analyzing campaign performance data, and generating reports for clients or internal teams. You might also be involved in audience targeting, creative testing, and learning how to use demand-side platforms (DSPs). Collaboration is common, as you'll often work closely with account managers, data analysts, and creative teams to ensure campaigns meet objectives and client expectations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an intern in programmatic advertising, and why are they important?

To thrive as an intern in programmatic advertising, you need a foundational understanding of digital marketing concepts, data analysis, and a relevant academic background, such as marketing, advertising, or communications. Familiarity with platforms like Google Ads, DSPs (Demand-Side Platforms), and analytics tools such as Google Analytics is often expected. Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and effective communication skills help interns collaborate and quickly adapt to evolving campaign needs. These skills and qualities are crucial for ensuring campaigns are optimized, data-driven, and aligned with client objectives in a rapidly changing digital landscape.

Job description

Join PatientPoint to be part of a dynamic team creating change in and around the doctor's office. As a leading digital health company, we innovate to positively impact patient behaviors. Our purpose-driven approach offers an inspirational career opportunity where you can contribute to improving health outcomes for millions of patients nationwide.

Location: NYC (Hybrid) Job Summary We're looking for a Director of Programmatic Demand Partnerships to own and grow our demand-side partner portfolio and revenue. This is a partnership-driven, revenue-driving role for a natural deal-maker who understands how programmatic POC/DOOH media gets bought and sold and can translate strategic partnerships into durable commercial growth. You will take ownership of our existing demand-side partnerships across the AdTech ecosystem: DSPs, agency trading desks, and ad networks - growing spend and partnership and deepening their commercial value over time.

Just as importantly, you will be expected to source and build new demand partnerships that expand our coverage and demand and that add measurable value to the business. This is a high-visibility, high-impact seat with direct influence over the company's growth trajectory. If you're an entrepreneurial dealmaker who wants to own demand partnerships in a fast-growing programmatic category and wants the mandate to go build new ones this is built for you.

What You'll Do Own and grow our existing demand-side partnerships across the programmatic POC/DOOH ecosystem - with DSPs, agency trading desks, and ad networks, serving as the senior commercial owner and maximizing the value of each. Source and build new demand partnerships that add measurable value to the company, identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing opportunities that grow demand and monetization. Partner with client sellers who call on advertisers directly to make sure that demand partnerships and advertiser spend are in sync and yield positive for the business.

Build and maintain a pipeline of new demand partnership opportunities across the programmatic DOOH ecosystem - identifying emerging DSPs, agency trading desks, and demand partners before competitors do. Partner cross-functionally with product, ad ops, finance, and account teams to ensure deals are operationally sound and supported end-to-end. Represent the company at industry events, building visibility and surfacing new demand partnership opportunities.

What We Need 5+ years in business development, partnerships, or commercial roles, with significant time spent on the demand side of programmatic POC/DOOH or adjacent programmatic media. A strong, active commercial and strategic presence across the programmatic DOOH demand ecosystem. You know the DSPs, agency trading desks, and key decision-makers, and have the credibility to open doors and build new demand partnerships.

A proven track record as a dealmaker: you've sourced, negotiated, and closed meaningful commercial agreements and can point to the revenue they generated. Strong commercial negotiation skills with growth orientation. You find the structure that gets the deal done without giving away the future.

Fluency in how programmatic works end-to-end: DSPs, exchanges, take rates, revenue share, and the mechanics of DOOH demand. Desired Qualifications Experience in healthcare or pharma media is a plus. Established standing with major programmatic DOOH DSPs and demand-side platforms such as The Trade Desk, Google DV360, or comparable platforms, with a track record of building demand partnerships with them.

MBA is a plus.
