Location: Savannah, GA (Remote with occasional in-person meetings)

We are a growing funeral home and cemetery company based in Savannah, GA, managing approximately 35 locations across multiple markets. Our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality funeral and memorial services while preserving the heritage and community connections of each location.

We are seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Intern from a local University to enhance our digital presence and engagement across various platforms. This role offers hands-on experience in content creation, social media strategy, and brand development in a unique and meaningful industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in managing and improving social media presence across Facebook, LinkedIn, Yelp, Google, and other relevant platforms.

Develop and schedule engaging, respectful, and informative content that aligns with our brand voice and industry.

Create and edit visual assets (graphics, videos, reels, infographics) to enhance engagement.

Monitor social media activity and foster online community engagement.

Collaborate with funeral home locations to share meaningful stories, highlight staff, and promote community events.

Research and implement best practices for organic growth, audience engagement, and brand consistency.

Analyze performance metrics and provide monthly reports with insights and recommendations.

Assist in developing a content calendar that aligns with seasonal trends, holidays, and industry-relevant topics.

Stay up to date on social media trends, tools, and innovations to enhance our online presence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Current enrollment in local university

Preferred major in Marketing, Social Media, Graphic Design, Photography, Film, or related field.

Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and audience engagement strategies.

Experience in Photoshop, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), or other design/video editing tools.

Excellent writing and storytelling skills with attention to tone and sensitivity.

Ability to work independently and remotely while meeting deadlines.

Interest in branding, community engagement, and creating meaningful digital content.

Previous experience managing social media for brands or organizations (preferred but not required).
