Job description

Overview
Physicians Mutual is seeking a motivated student with a passion for web development who's eager to gain hands-on experience creating and supporting customer-facing digital experiences. Our internship program offers hands-on experience, mentorship from experienced technology professionals, and meaningful project work that helps you develop your technical skills while making an impact.
As an ETG Web Development Intern, you'll work alongside a collaborative development team supporting Physicians Mutual's corporate website and web-based applications. You'll gain hands-on experience with front-end development, responsive web design, troubleshooting, and enhancements while working closely with technology and business teams across the company.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development, maintenance and enhancement of Physicians Mutual's corporate website and web-based applications.
  • Support front-end development using technologies such as HTML, Angular, React and Java.
  • Help develop and maintain responsive web experiences across desktop and mobile devices.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, testing and resolving issues affecting customer-facing web applications.
  • Collaborate with developers and business partners to understand needs and implement web-based solutions.
  • Contribute to projects supporting digital tools such as pre-need portals, calculators and other customer-facing applications.
  • Participate in team activities while gaining practical experience with professional software development processes.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Information Technology or a related field.
  • Junior or senior standing preferred.
  • Coursework or experience in web development.
  • Familiarity with HTML and modern web development concepts.
  • Exposure to Angular, React, Java or similar development technologies preferred.
  • Understanding of responsive web design principles preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

This is a 12-month internship averaging approximately 25 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate school commitments.
