About the Role


Cobalt Benefits Group is seeking a Health Benefits Implementation Specialist to support the onboarding and implementation of self-funded medical, dental, and ancillary benefit plans for new clients.


This role is eligible for hybrid or fully remote work, depending on candidate location and business needs.


What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and drive implementation activities across multiple internal teams and external partners
  • Create, manage, and maintain implementation project plans, timelines, and tracking documentation
  • Gather, document, and validate customer requirements to ensure accurate product and service setup
  • Proactively identify risks or issues and partner with stakeholders to drive timely resolution
  • Facilitate implementation kick-off activities, including preparation of tools and documentation
  • Lead or support client-facing meetings and presentations related to onboarding and implementation
  • Track action items, follow-ups, and implementation milestones to keep projects on schedule
  • Customize and maintain department-specific documentation and templates
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, vendors, and client contacts
  • Support continuous improvement of implementation processes and standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in health insurance implementation or a closely related benefits/insurance role
  • Experience working directly with clients on complex initiatives
  • Knowledge of self-funded health plans and related services (TPA, claims administration, HSAs, FSAs, COBRA, etc.)
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable presenting to client management and facilitating meetings
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with web-based tools and documentation systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% during peak implementation periods
  • Technical writing experience is a plus
