As an import coordinator, your job duties include communicating relevant information to national and international customers and sales companies, handling monetary exchange rates, and arranging shipments. To pursue a career as an import coordinator, you need a bachelor’s degree in global business management, international finance, or a related field. Speaking a foreign language, having excellent communication skills, and possessing a deep understanding of the global economy may make you a more valuable candidate when seeking an import coordinator position.

They handle documentation, ensure compliance with customs regulations, coordinate with suppliers and shipping companies, and track shipments to ensure timely delivery. Their role is critical in preventing delays, avoiding extra costs, and ensuring that all imported products meet regulatory requirements. Import Coordinators often work closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to streamline the import process.
