We are seeking an experienced International Import Freight Coordinator to join our team. This role requires recent, hands-on experience managing international import shipments in a freight forwarding, NVOCC, customs brokerage, or international logistics environment. This is a full-time, in-office position requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple active shipments and deadlines simultaneously.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Track and manage international import shipments via ocean and air freight
  • Coordinate cargo movement from origin through final delivery
  • Monitor shipment milestones and proactively resolve delays, exceptions, and service issues
  • Provide timely shipment updates and proactive communication to clients
  • Process and distribute import documentation accurately and on time, including Arrival Notices, ISF filings, OGA holds, and related compliance documentation
  • Coordinate drayage, LTL, and final-mile delivery arrangements
  • Work closely with steamship lines, airlines, customs brokers, warehouses, and transportation providers
  • Ensure all shipment documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with applicable requirements
  • Negotiate rates with carriers, warehouses, and service providers as needed
  • Support operational KPIs and contribute to process improvements that enhance service and efficiency

Required Qualifications

  • Tenure in international import operations within a freight forwarder, NVOCC, customs brokerage, or international logistics provider
  • Direct experience coordinating ocean and air import shipments
  • Working knowledge of import documentation, customs processes, ISF filings, Arrival Notices, OGA holds, and cargo release procedures
  • Experience working with steamship lines, airlines, customs brokers, warehouses, and transportation providers
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent shipments while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned shipments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience negotiating carrier, drayage, and warehouse rates
  • Experience using freight forwarding, transportation management, or logistics software
  • Experience in a client-facing operations role

Important Qualification Notice
