Job description

Marcus Hotels & Resorts seeks an influential Human Resource Generalist to join our team.ย ย We seek applicants that possess great poise and professionalism along with the strong desire to positively impact on the associate experience. ย This role serves as a key ambassador for the department's brand and culture, ensuring a positive associate experience fromย hireย through offboarding. The HR Generalist provides human resources support to include associate relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, benefits administration, training and development, compliance, and overall associate recognition and engagement. The ideal candidate is patient, trustworthy, and organized while fostering a workplace of experiential fun.

Primary Responsibilities

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Serve as a primary point of contact for associates, responding to general HR inquiries andย always maintaining confidentialityย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support talent acquisition efforts, including applicant screening, interview scheduling, offer preparation, onboarding coordination, ย  ย  ย  ย andย maintainingย new hire pipelines.ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Administer onboarding and orientation programs,ย facilitateย new hire training sessions, and track 30/60/90-day pulse check-insย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ensureย timelyย andย accurateย processing of employee data between applicant tracking, HRIS, payroll, and benefits systemsย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Coordinate performance appraisal processes, promotions, transfers, and separations, including offboarding and unemployment ย responsesย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assistย with benefits administration, annual enrollment activities, and other HR processes as assignedย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintain HR records, files, postings, bulletin boards, and associate communications across internal platformsย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Plan and execute associate engagement, recognition, and appreciation programs and events

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support trainingย logistics, compliance tracking, andย requiredย certification monitoringย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Act as support for hourly hiring and other HR operational needsย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintain general knowledge of union agreements and support related processes as neededย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assistย with special HR projects, events, and other duties as assignedย 

Job Requirements

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or related field preferredย 

ย ย ย ย ย  ย Prior experience in Human Resources, Hospitality, or Customer Service environmentsย

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferredย
