Job description

Marcus Hotels & Resorts seeks an influential Human Resource Generalist to join our team.  We seek applicants that possess great poise and professionalism along with the strong desire to positively impact on the associate experience.  This role serves as a key ambassador for the department's brand and culture, ensuring a positive associate experience from hire through offboarding. The HR Generalist provides human resources support to include associate relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, benefits administration, training and development, compliance, and overall associate recognition and engagement. The ideal candidate is patient, trustworthy, and organized while fostering a workplace of experiential fun.

Primary Responsibilities

       Serve as a primary point of contact for associates, responding to general HR inquiries and always maintaining confidentiality 

       Support talent acquisition efforts, including applicant screening, interview scheduling, offer preparation, onboarding coordination,        and maintaining new hire pipelines. 

       Administer onboarding and orientation programs, facilitate new hire training sessions, and track 30/60/90-day pulse check-ins 

       Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee data between applicant tracking, HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems 

       Coordinate performance appraisal processes, promotions, transfers, and separations, including offboarding and unemployment  responses 

       Assist with benefits administration, annual enrollment activities, and other HR processes as assigned 

       Maintain HR records, files, postings, bulletin boards, and associate communications across internal platforms 

       Plan and execute associate engagement, recognition, and appreciation programs and events

       Support training logistics, compliance tracking, and required certification monitoring 

       Act as support for hourly hiring and other HR operational needs 

       Maintain general knowledge of union agreements and support related processes as needed 

       Assist with special HR projects, events, and other duties as assigned 

Job Requirements

                       Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or related field preferred 

       Prior experience in Human Resources, Hospitality, or Customer Service environments 

       Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently 

       Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred 

       Proficiency with computers, HR systems, and general office technology 

       Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality 

       Outgoing, service-oriented mindset with a strong focus on associate engagement and retention
