Job description

Human Resources (HR Generalist)

At American Bolt Corporation, we don't just supply fasteners, we keep critical projects, manufacturers, and construction customers moving forward. As we continue to grow, we are looking to expand our HR department with an HR Generalist. 

This is a great career opportunity for an HR professional who wants to put their high emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills to work building workplace programs that will help American Bolt make smart people choices into the future. In this role, you will work across all HR disciplines, balancing employee needs with organization goals. You will be the go-to contact for all employees (~80).

This role will be onsite/in-office Monday-Friday, with the option for summer hours. 

What You'll Do:

  • Employee relations & culture focus: provide support to management on employee relations, performance management, constructive feedback, timely conversations, employee feedback analysis and action, progressive discipline, etc.
  • Talent acquisition & onboarding: manage full-cycle recruiting for non-exempt positions, partner with hiring managers to define department culture needs and draft job postings, conduct initial phone screens, coordinate onsite interviews, extend offers in the HRIS, execute and maintain onboarding programs to increase retention.
  • Compliance & HRIS: maintain strict confidentiality for all employee and manager interaction and employee data and information, maintain electronic files in the HRIS, oversee leaves of absence, continually improve HR systems and policies, and evaluate and enhance established programs focused on employee development and metrics. 

We are looking for:

  • Exceptional conflict resolution skills and high emotional intelligence.
  • Basic knowledge of employment laws and practices.
  • Intermediate proficiency with HRIS and applicant tracking systems. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Psychology, or other related field.
  • Up to 1 year experience in HR or related position.
