Your Job
Georgia-Pacific is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Business Partner to provide day-to-day HR support for our lumber mills in Rome, Georgia, and Warrenton, Georgia. This position will be based primarily at the Rome mill and will also provide regular on-site support for the Warrenton mill. The role works closely with mill leaders, supervisors, and employees to support employee relations, staffing, onboarding, performance management, HR compliance, and other core HR processes that contribute to safe, reliable operations.
Travel between Rome and Warrenton mills will be 25% or more, based on business needs. This is an on-site role supporting two operating lumber mills. The position requires flexibility to respond to changing priorities and to engage with employees and leaders across shifts, as needed. The successful candidate will be approachable, organized, responsive, and comfortable balancing HR priorities across two manufacturing locations.
What You Will Do
  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance to leaders, supervisors, and employees, including responding to questions and helping resolve workplace concerns in a timely, respectful, and consistent manner.
  • Support hourly staffing activities, including recruiting coordination, candidate selection, pre-employment processes, onboarding, and new-hire follow-up.
  • Assist leaders with employee relations, attendance, performance management, corrective action, and consistent application of company policies and practices.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation and support compliance with employment requirements and internal HR processes.
  • Prepare and review routine workforce information, including staffing, turnover, attendance, and other HR reports.
  • Coordinate with HR capability teams, payroll, benefits, recruiting, and other partners to resolve employee and leader needs.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, training, and other site HR initiatives.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Two or more years of experience in an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or comparable human resource role.
  • Human resources experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or operations environment.
  • Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, or other core HR processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, including the ability to organize, review, and communicate workforce information.
  • Willing to travel between Rome, Georgia, and Warrenton, Georgia, 25% or more and maintain an on-site presence at both mills.

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting more than one manufacturing site or a geographically dispersed workforce.
  • Experience with recruiting, HR systems, employee records, workforce reporting, or training coordination.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Professional HR certification, such as PHR or SHRM-CP.
