Health Insurance Enrollment Technician

Location: Baltimore, MD (Hybrid) Schedule: Monday-Friday (business hours) Type: 12-month contract Pay Rate: $26.50/HR

About the role

We’re hiring an Enrollment Technician to help ensure members are enrolled accurately and on time in a health insurance enrollment system. This role is detail-focused and process-driven, with a strong emphasis on data entry, quality checks, and resolving discrepancies. You’ll support enrollment activity across lines of business, including individual market/ICRA-related enrollment work (you’ll be trained on the specifics).

What you’ll do (day-to-day)

  • Process member enrollments and updates for subscribers and dependents (new enrollments, changes, terminations, and other enrollment events)
  • Review requests received via email and other channels and enter updates into the enrollment system accurately
  • Verify enrollment status and troubleshoot issues (research discrepancies, correct records, and follow defined workflows)
  • Complete reconciliation activities and resolve mismatches
  • Coordinate with internal partners to ensure enrollment updates are complete and audited before downstream steps (e.g., ID cards and billing) move forward
  • Track your work and meet productivity expectations as you ramp (target volume may grow over time; an eventual benchmark discussed is ~25–30 items/day)

Required qualifications (must have)

  • Junior-level profile
  • Strong data entry skills and comfort working with high-volume information
  • Intermediate Excel and solid Microsoft Office skills
  • Analytical mindset and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and service expectations
