Job description

Aspirus Health is seeking a Medical Director of Medical Informatics (.5FTE). This physician will serve as an advisor and provide physician and APC perspective in decisions about strategic direction for clinical systems and improving the user electronic health record (EHR) experience.

Working with a multidisciplinary team, the medical informaticist will dedicate approximately .5 of their FTE to:

  • Offering strategic leadership to enhance physician practice, support operational needs, comply with regulations, and establish a foundation for medical informatics.
  • Translating vision regarding technology functionality and usability into strategies with clear objectives and practical action plans providing clear guidelines for meeting goals.
  • Improving the EHR (Epic) experience among frontline users through rounding, data analytics, and adoption of EHR best practices.
  • Exercising strong change management skills to assist in EHR and other clinical system implementations, integrations, upgrades, and enhancement adoption across the system
  • Providing clinical leadership in evaluating, implementing, and advancing the diffusion of health information technology at Aspirus, with an emphasis on optimization and utilization of the electronic health record. 
  • Maintaining department specific accountabilities as determined, maintained, and housed within each units Scope of Service.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve patient experience. Participates in projects/programs designed to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.

To qualify for this position, we require the physician have:

  • Three years of clinical practice experience
  • A license to practice medicine
  • Board certification in a clinical specialty necessary
