Job description
The National Rural Health Resource Center provides technical assistance, information, tools, and resources for the improvement of rural healthcare. The work that The Center does for rural communities is pivotal to the health of rural Americans and plays a significant role in keeping small rural hospitals open.
We are seeking two Health Care Technology Specialists to join our innovative and mission-driven team.
The Health Care Technology Specialist combines strong project management expertise with advanced health care technology support to improve rural health systems and organizational sustainability. Responsibilities include managing multiple technical assistance engagements simultaneously, coordinating complex projects and relationships, and guiding rural hospitals and clinics through implementation of telehealth, electronic health records, digital infrastructure, and operational improvement initiatives.
The position also involves facilitating service line expansion, conducting operational and technology assessments, supporting data-driven decision-making, and delivering virtual and onsite education, training, and implementation support. Through collaboration with health care leaders, consultants, and government partners, this work strengthens rural health care capacity, advances quality improvement and operational efficiency, and helps rural organizations address technology initiatives, improve access to care, and sustain essential health care services in rural communities.
The Health Care Technology Specialist should have at least four years of experience in health care information and technology software, platforms and infrastructure, telehealth or virtual care with a bachelor's degree in health care management or administration, business, public health, health science, health information technology, health information management, health informatics, or a closely related healthcare field specifically with a technology focus. This person should be outgoing and possess outstanding customer service abilities, being able to communicate effectively while facilitating, training, and presenting to both groups and leaders. They should possess effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent project management skills, and be detailed oriented and with a strong commitment to performance improvement.
Experience preferred with working remotely and with Microsoft Office, Teams, and Zoom Meetings or similar platform. Valid driver's license required.
