Job description

About us

Garage powers the exchange of critical assets across America’s essential industries. We started with fire departments, where purchasing mission‑critical vehicles and equipment used to take months of paperwork, phone calls, and delays. Our agentic platform automates the entire transaction: discovery, payments, freight, paperwork, warranty, and financing. What once took months now takes minutes.

In under a year, we’ve expanded to cities and towns in all 50 states and grown revenue more than 10x. Based in New York, we’ve raised $18M from Y Combinator, Initialized Capital, Infinity Ventures, FJ Labs, and other leading investors. We’re moving fast, growing quickly, and just getting started.

About the role

As a GTM Recruiter, you will help build the Sales, Marketing, and Growth Operations teams that bring Garage to more of America’s essential industries. You’ll partner with GTM leaders to identify, attract, assess, and close the people who will shape our commercial engine.

This is a hands‑on IC role for someone who understands that great GTM recruiting is not just moving candidates through a process. You will help define what great looks like for each role, build proactive pipelines, pressure‑test hiring briefs, run clean interview loops, close candidates who can operate with ownership in an early‑stage environment, and help raise the bar with every hire.

  • Own full‑cycle recruiting for GTM roles across Sales, Marketing, and Growth Operations.
  • Partner with the Head of People, founders, and GTM leaders to translate business priorities into clear hiring plans, role briefs, and interview processes.
  • Build proactive sourcing strategies for revenue and growth roles, including outbound campaigns, referrals, target‑company mapping, talent communities, and events.
  • Write clear, specific outreach that helps exceptional GTM candidates understand Garage’s mission, product, team, and stage, positioning us as the employer of choice.
  • Run a fast, high‑touch candidate process from first outreach through close, with clear communication and strong follow‑through.
  • Coordinate debriefs, manage offer processes, and help hiring managers keep momentum with top candidates.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline data in Ashby and share weekly updates on funnel health, source yield, conversion, and time to fill.
  • Bring market intelligence to GTM hiring discussions, including compensation signals, candidate feedback, competitor talent pools, and role‑calibration insights.
  • Build repeatable GTM recruiting playbooks, interview practices, candidate experience standards, and reporting rhythms that scale with Garage.
What we’re looking for
  • Builds pipelines from scratch and does not rely on inbound applications or brand gravity to make hard hires happen.
  • Moves quickly while maintaining a high bar, organized process, and thoughtful candidate experience.
  • Creates clarity in ambiguity, tests new sourcing and process ideas quickly, and pivots based on what the market and funnel data are showing.
  • Uses data to understand funnel health, diagnose bottlenecks, and improve hiring outcomes.
  • Communicates clearly with candidates and hiring managers, especially when a search needs recalibration.
  • Is excited by Garage’s customer, market, and stage, and can tell that story with conviction.
Required
  • 3+ years of experience owning full‑cycle recruiting for GTM roles at a high‑growth technology company, startup, or similarly high‑bar recruiting environment.
  • Strong outbound sourcing skills for Sales, Marketing, Growth, or GTM Operations talent.
  • Experience partnering directly with GTM hiring managers to define role requirements, calibrate candidate profiles, and run structured interview processes.
  • Strong candidate assessment skills for revenue and customer‑facing roles, including the ability to evaluate motivation, judgment, communication, execution history, and ability to thrive in an early‑stage operating environment.
  • Experience managing candidates through offer processes and closing competitive candidates with clear, high‑trust communication.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to write crisp outreach and keep stakeholders aligned.
  • Strong operating discipline in an ATS such as Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever, or a similar system.
Nice to have
  • Experience hiring quota‑carrying sales talent, marketing talent, or growth operations talent in B2B SaaS, marketplaces, fintech, logistics, government technology, or another complex vertical market.
  • Experience using Ashby, Juicebox, Metaview, Gem, Clay, ChatGPT, Claude, or other modern recruiting and AI tools.
  • Existing network across high‑growth startup GTM talent pools.
Our values
  • Growth oriented. We invest in people who grow as the company grows. We all should be constantly learning.
  • Humility. Everyone has a lot to give and a lot to learn. We believe in creating an environment where the best ideas win and acknowledging when we are wrong.
  • Customer focused. We have a genuine love for our customers. Customer success is our success.
  • Hack to success. We move fast and take big swings. We always aim for a solution that addresses 80% of the problem in 20% of the time. We make informed bets, launch quickly, and iterate.
Why Garage?
  • Our product is something people use everyday to buy the equipment local communities everywhere depend on.
  • We’ve grown revenue over 10x in the last year and are well capitalized with $18M in funding raised total.
  • We have a talent‑dense, high‑performing team from Ramp, Twitter, Goldman Sachs, Bilt, Wise, Unify, Honey, PayPal, and more.
  • You’ll be one of our first 35 employees, operating as a foundational member of the team, partnering alongside the company’s founders.
What we offer
  • Competitive salary and stock options
  • Health, dental and vision insurance (100% covered)
  • Unlimited paid time off every year (in addition to company observed holidays)
  • Daily lunch and dinner
  • $100 monthly wellness stipend
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Pre‑tax commuter benefits
  • Bi‑annual team offsite
  • Relocation assistance
