Job description

ESP is a leading provider of Geospatial and Survey Services supported by a team of more than 300 professionals. Our capabilities include LiDAR (airborne, mobile, and terrestrial), Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), and conventional surveying, utilizing both unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and crewed fixed-wing aircraft.

We are seeking a highly motivated, relationship-driven professional to expand our Geospatial and Land Surveying services. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, this role is focused on developing new client relationships, identifying opportunities, and driving revenue growth through direct engagement with decision-makers in target markets.

The ideal candidate brings a strong network and relationships with Architects, Engineers, Contractors, and Owners, complemented by a deep understanding of the Geospatial industry, and a proven ability to win work through strategic positioning, partnering, and client trust.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities for geospatial and surveying services
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and key industry stakeholders
  • Actively prospect within target sectors (e.g., transportation, utilities, land development, energy, public sector)
  • Lead client engagement efforts from initial contact through contract award
  • Collaborate with technical and operations teams to align client needs with service offerings
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and upcoming project opportunities
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
  • Maintain accurate pipeline tracking, forecasting, and CRM updates

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of business development or sales experience in geospatial, land surveying, civil engineering, or related services
  • Demonstrated success in a sellerโ€“seller environment with measurable revenue growth
  • Strong understanding of geospatial technologies (e.g., LiDAR, GIS, UAV/drone mapping, reality capture) and survey services
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with tracking sales pipelines in a CRM
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive results
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the companyโ€™s driving (MVR) policy

Preferred:

  • Established network within the Carolinas
  • Experience working with Architects, Engineers, Contractors, DOTs, power companies, municipalities, and large private developers in NC/SC
  • Knowledgeable of procurement processes (RFQs, RFPs, MSAs)
  • Background in technical disciplines (surveying, engineering, GIS)
  • Degree in a related discipline (Civil Engineering, Survey, Geomatics, or related degree).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Licensed Surveyor (PLS)
