About the Opportunity

Aligned Solutions is partnering with a growing organization to identify a Supervisor, Commissions & Collections to lead a newly established function responsible for commission administration, collections, and payment accuracy. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys building processes from the ground up, improving operational efficiencies, and developing a high-performing team.

The ideal candidate brings strong accounting and reconciliation experience, exceptional analytical skills, and a customer-focused approach to resolving complex commission-related inquiries. This individual will collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Finance while creating scalable processes and ensuring the accuracy of commission payments and collections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily commission and collections process, ensuring timely and accurate commission and incentive payments.

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex commission inquiries, payment discrepancies, and agency disputes.

  • Research, reconcile, and resolve commission-related issues while maintaining detailed documentation.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc commission reporting for leadership and agency partners.

  • Process manual commission statements and reconcile commission transactions, cash receipts, and payment activity.

  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Finance to resolve system issues and improve commission processing workflows.

  • Monitor outstanding commission balances and coordinate collection efforts with agents and internal stakeholders.

  • Apply payments received, reconcile outstanding balances, and process deposits as appropriate.

  • Review and resolve stale-dated commission checks and payment exceptions.

  • Assist with annual 1099 commission reporting and respond to agent inquiries regarding tax documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, controls, and operational efficiencies.

  • Develop, document, and implement standardized policies, procedures, and best practices for the department.

  • Create training materials and mentor team members to ensure consistent execution and continuous development.

  • Participate in special projects and additional initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commissions, collections, sales incentive administration, or a related accounting/finance function.

  • Prior experience supervising or mentoring team members, or demonstrated leadership capabilities.

  • Strong accounting, reconciliation, and financial analysis experience.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including working with large datasets and reporting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Preferred

  • Experience creating processes and procedures within a new or evolving department.

  • Experience developing training documentation and onboarding materials.

  • Background working with commission management or sales incentive systems.

  • Experience navigating multiple financial or ERP systems.
