As a Funeral Arranger or Director, you'll be the steady, knowledgeable presence that helps families make informed decisions, navigate complex logistics, and feel supported every step of the way.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll manage everything involved in planning and carrying out funerals, cremations, and related services. Your days might include:

  • Meeting with families to plan services that reflect their loved one's life
  • Coordinating with clergy, vendors, and internal staff to ensure every detail is handled
  • Managing legal documentation like death certificates, permits, and insurance paperwork
  • Organizing transportation, service flow, and product selections (urns, caskets, etc.)
  • Supporting pre-arrangement planning and helping people make decisions ahead of time
  • Being present and involved on the day of services-ensuring things go smoothly, from start to finish

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in funeral service preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks
  • Confidence working with people in emotionally sensitive moments
  • Tech-savvy enough to manage documents, emails, scheduling, and video presentations
  • A calm presence, good judgment, and attention to detail
  • Available to work any day of the week including weekends and some holidays

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred for Funeral Directors)
  • California Funeral Director License (if applying as a Funeral Director)
  • Funeral Arranger Certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Valid CA driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and work indoors/outdoors in various weather
