Job description

Position Summary (ON-SITE; NOT REMOTE):
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll for multiple client companies within our Professional Employer Organization. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls for assigned client companies
  • Calculate and upload employee hours, wages, commissions, bonuses, and deductions
  • Verify timesheets and resolve discrepancies with clients and employees
  • Ensure accurate tax withholdings and proper application of garnishments
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports to clients
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax deposits and returns
  • Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 and 1099 preparation
  • Respond to client and employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
  • Stay current with payroll regulations and best practices

Client Interaction:
  • Serve as a point of contact for client payroll inquiries and issues, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their payroll needs and offer solutions that align with their requirements.
  • Provide clients with regular payroll reports and updates.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2-3 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-company environment
  • Proficiency in payroll software systems
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
