As a food service manager, you supervise the daily operations of a kitchen in a restaurant, cafeteria, or other food and beverage establishment. Your responsibilities are to ensure food safety and facilitate a quality customer dining experience. Your job duties include hiring and training employees, scheduling and supervising staff, ordering equipment and supplies, and inspecting inventory and workstations. You also monitor food production and portion sizes, manage budgets, and respond to customer inquiries and complaints. If you are the head food service manager, you must also arrange for maintenance and cleaning during closed hours.
