FSQA Assistant

The FSQA Assistant focuses on verifying company quality standards for incoming products, operational processing, rework and organoleptic review of products. This role contributes to the overall success of the company by developing the capacity to identify and address immediate quality issues. Applicants for this job must be great communicators who work well as part of a team with high level of initiative. You are the eye of the customer and as such, assure that the product is wholesome and meet all product specifications. Reporting to the FSQA Supervisor, the FSQA Assistant responsible for the successful inbound receiving of products to the Distribution Centre.  

Position Type: Full-time, Salaried Non-Exempt (SNE)

Schedule: Day Shifts| 7:00am - 3:00pm OR 9:00am – 5:00pm 

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Inbound quality inspection & verification (cold chain, packaging integrity, labeling, specification compliance, best by date) 
  • Organoleptic evaluation of the inbound product upon receiving, following process to evaluate and report on product quality  
  • Manage inbound receiving processes and collaborate closely with other areas of the business to ensure seamless inbound and inventorying flow 
  • Follow all food safety requirements and GMP’s as applicable for this position 
  • Enforce operational food safety and quality assurance standards 
  • Resolving food safety and quality assurance requests in a timely manner 
  • Provide quality data to support decision-making by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information  
  • Excel skills (data analysis, building charts and graphs, sorting and filtering data, utilizing pivot tables) 
  • Inventory management 
  • Ensure the integrity of the data, maintains accurate and compliance records 
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned  

Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience in FSQA, warehouse, retail or food industry 
  • 5 years of experience in cold chain or relative food industry 
  • High school degree or GED preferred not required 
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 40lbs 
  • This position requires walking, standing, twisting, reaching, bending, climbing and lifting. 
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends. 
  • Ability to meet seasonal peaks, workloads, and deadlines 
  • Work with integrity as a TEAM toward a shared vision 
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills 
  • Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers is crucial. Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential. 
  • Be determined and deliver superior results with a sense of urgency, time management, and prioritization 
  • Treat it like you own it –Take ownership and responsibility to be successful 
  • Acts with respects and values other opinions 
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analyzing
