Job description

The overall responsibility of the Expeditor is to ensure that our guests receive the finest food, plated to expectations per recipe standard set forth by the Chef. Those responsibilities include that the food is prepared as ordered, presentable, garnished correctly and rims of plates are clean before being delivered to the guest.The Expeditor follows and ensures compliance with food safety handling policies and maintains an organized and hygienic work area, including personal hygiene procedures. The Expeditor must be thoroughly familiar with Lawryโ€™s appearance standards, safety procedures and the overall operation of our kitchen.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Must be able to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to stay cool under pressure and be a team player. Able to handle high-volume activity with calm and grace.
  • Outgoing, friendly, and guest-focused.
  • Works efficiently, accurately and quickly to expedite the guestsโ€™ food orders.
  • Liaison between FOH and HOH co -workers and managers in the execution of food items at the expo window/pass.
  • Communicates with line cooks to ensure that all food items ordered are prepared and ready for delivery to a table at the same time.
  • Focused on detail management and completion of orders and tickets; ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Inspect all plates for cleanliness and correct plating per the recipe standard prior to serving, ensuring food is delivered efficiently and at the proper temperature.
  • Maintains proper food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Sets up and closes station appropriately.
  • Prepares any garnishes, condiments, dressings, and other menu items strictly accordingly to Company recipes.
  • Stores and rotates food items in accordance with established procedures, i.e. โ€œFIFOโ€ (first in, first out).
  • Maintains a safe workplace by keeping work areas clean and free of debris and hazards; Maintains cleanliness of the station at all times.
  • Reports any delays concerning food and or timings to be communicated directly to the manager-on-duty. This enables the manager to be able to touch the table of the guest and be proactive in place of reactive.
  • Reports any challenges the kitchen may be facing from volume of orders to cooking times of specific items.
  • Adheres to Lawryโ€™s uniform and appearance standards.
  • Consistently and sufficiently meet Lawryโ€™s standards, providing and exuding quality, and professionalism; and conducts himself or herself in accordance with Lawryโ€™s Code of Ethics.
  • Comply with all of Lawryโ€™s employment related policies and procedures; including accurate records of hours worked, breaks, communication of shift changes, tardiness or absence; and behavior consistent with the companyโ€™s desire to maintain a workplace free of incidents of co-worker harassment, discrimination, drug or alcohol abuse.
  • Assists other FOH and HOH co-workers and departments with their duties as assigned to ensure guest satisfaction.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Satisfactory physical and mental health to perform the requirements of the job, and to work with the public in compliance with applicable foodservice health and safety regulations.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the assigned position with or without reasonable accommodation, and within company policy.
  • Able to stand and walk for up to eight (8) hours during a shift (with limited breaks); carry up to 100 lbs. and exert up to 150 lbs. of force without straining; and sustain repetitive motions of legs, feet, waist, back, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and fingers.
  • Be available and willing to work all scheduled shifts within the priority scheduling and seniority systems as established at each location, including working weekends and holidays.
  • Capable of communicating with others, able to express and exchange ideas in spoken and written English in an average manner.
  • Basic math proficiency.
  • Able to listen and follow instructions carefully.
  • Capable of following basic recipes.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
ย Experience:
  • At least one (1) year of previous experience as an Expeditor in a high-end dining establishment is required.
ย Licenses/Certifications:
  • Current Local/State Food Handlerโ€™s Training Certifications as required
ย Computer Skills: Basic familiarity with computers and calculators.ย Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.ย  Some college or culinary education beneficial.
