Order Expeditor
Your main responsibilities
Have an awareness of all factors affecting the flow and shipment of products, including but not limited to 500 orders, catalog sales and Mod orders. Prevent bottlenecks and delays to schedule wherever possible. Coordinate and expedite material to meet scheduled shipment. Communicate delays, problem areas and schedule status to internal departments and customers, and aid in the resolution of impediments to schedule. Supply necessary support documents where necessary to produce and ship a quality product on time.
  • Assure availability of tools, material and information required to process orders and meet schedules (ie. Engineering drawings, load lists, bills of lading, etc.) Verify material availability against Bill of Material, load lists, etc.
  • Check material receipts at Receiving, Incoming Inspection and Shipping docks and produce paperwork required to expedite incoming or outgoing materials using such documents as purchase orders and L-orders.
  • Post necessary information to SAP, production schedules, databases and reports to accurately report product status.
  • Assist manufacturing and shipping personnel as needed to meet production and shipping schedules. Work with planning, engineering, shipping and others to meet objectives with respect to product line schedules, economical loading, models, etc.
  • Use SAP to obtain status of purchased materials, inventory balances, engineering information, ordering information, manufacturing status, traffic loadings, truck availability, shop routings, etc.
  • Order and communicate special instructions for shipments, product shortages and deviations, rejected materials, etc.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers concerning the status of open orders. Provide timely information with respect to delivery dates, potential delays, etc. Advise group leaders, managers and others of status of jobs, delays and other factors which may impede job progress and impact shipments.
  • Generate and use reports, spreadsheets and other information as needed to accomplish tasks.
  • Provide regular feedback to Field customer concerning the status of open orders.
  • Update databases as needed and provide regular reports / summaries of claims statistics.
  • Support and coordinate efforts for identification and resolution of root causes.
  • Continuously provide insight, suggestions, and effort for continuous process improvement.
