Material Expeditor
Huntsville Alabama
**Ability to obtain an Active Secret Clearance Required**
The Material Expeditor is responsible for locating and moving materials and parts between work areas to expedite the processing of goods according to predetermined schedules and priorities. They compile and maintain material inventory records, distribute materials, and provide necessary reports.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Material Expeditor: $20-$25.13 per hour
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Material Expeditor Responsibilities Include:
  • Compiling and maintaining inventory and status information to facilitate material movement.
  • Reading production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine material requirements and order priority.
  • Collaborating with department supervisors to identify overdue materials and update them on material status.
  • Locating and distributing materials to designated production areas using manual tools or equipment.
  • Recording and maintaining perpetual inventory of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed.
  • Compiling and maintaining records such as material inventory records, production records, and timecards
  • Assisting in the transfer of materials from stock area to production areas by coordinating with industrial truck operators or material handlers
  • Examining received materials, verifying part numbers, and checking for any discrepancies.
  • Comparing work ticket specifications to material used at workstations to ensure appropriate assignment.
  • Driving trucks to outlying work areas to check order status or deliver materials.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Material Expeditor Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of related experience, specifically with hazardous materials and knowledge of MSDS
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Security clearance
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Experience with driving a range of vehicles from cargo vans to 26' box trucks
  • Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude
  • Must be able to pass a Background Investigation and Drug Screen
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
