Summary
The Expeditor in a supply chain environment ensures that materials, products, and components are delivered on time, in the right quantity, and at the right location. The role involves monitoring and expediting the flow of goods from suppliers to production and/or customers to meet demand schedules. This position coordinates with procurement, vendors, transportation providers, and internal teams to resolve supply chain issues, improve delivery performance, and minimize disruptions.
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the status of orders and deliveries, ensuring materials are available when needed to meet production or customer demands.
  • Expedite purchase orders, transportation, and delivery to resolve delays in the supply chain.
  • Actively track and follow up on delayed shipments, backorders, and inventory shortages.
  • Ensure the timely movement of materials through the supply chain to avoid production or fulfillment delays.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to expedite urgent orders or resolve delivery issues.
  • Provide clear and accurate updates to internal stakeholders about order status, delays, and expected delivery times.
  • Track vendor performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, lead time, and quality, and work with suppliers
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks or disruptions in the supply chain and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to address and resolve discrepancies or delays in deliveries.
  • Facilitate the return of damaged, incorrect, or defective items.
