JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE
The Manufacturing Expeditor is responsible for supporting production flow by monitoring job status, identifying delays, and helping move stalled or aging work through the manufacturing process. This role requires strong computer skills, clear written communication, and consistent follow-up to help maintain workflow efficiency and improve job completion timelines. The Manufacturing Expeditor works closely with production, operations, and support teams to ensure timely movement of work throughout the lab. This is a mostly mobile position and requires the ability to remain on your feet for extended periods of time.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Track manufacturing jobs throughout the production process and monitor status updates
Identify delayed, stalled, and aging jobs and follow up with appropriate departments to move work forward
Provide timely updates on delayed jobs to leadership and relevant team members
Write thorough, professional emails to communicate job status, issues, and required actions
Use computer systems and production tracking tools to update records, maintain accuracy, and document progress
Help coordinate workflow by prioritizing older jobs and supporting timely resolution of bottlenecks
Partner with production, operations, and support teams to improve communication and job visibility
Escalate recurring delays or concerns when needed to help prevent workflow disruptions
Work daily toward meeting production and workflow expectations set by management
Always perform and comply with all job functions according to documented standard operating procedures
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting within company systems
Participate in team, department, and company-wide meetings as scheduled; actively participate in discussions and provide feedback to maintain and improve the work environment
Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and prepared for ongoing operations
Utilize proper handling techniques and equipment to minimize damages and reduce injuries
Follow and uphold all OSHA and company safety guidelines, policies, and regulations
Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate

Required Qualifications
Strong computer skills, including the ability to learn and use production tracking and reporting systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong follow-up skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams and departments
Ability to work in a mostly mobile role and remain on your feet for extended periods of time
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in manufacturing, production coordination, expediting, or operations support
Experience working with job tracking systems, spreadsheets, or ERP tools
Ability to recognize workflow gaps and support continuous improvement efforts
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. This is a mostly mobile position requiring the ability to remain on your feet for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
