Job description

Production Expeditor

Location: San Jose, CA
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay: $24-$28/hour (Up to $30/hour for exceptional candidates)

A growing and stable Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) organization is seeking a Production Expeditor to support manufacturing operations by driving the timely completion of work orders and resolving production bottlenecks. This is a highly visible role that works closely with Production, Materials, Quality, Planning, Debug, and Program Management teams to ensure customer commitments and production goals are achieved.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a contract manufacturing or electronics manufacturing environment and enjoy working directly on the production floor to keep operations moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and expedite work orders through all stages of production
  • Walk the manufacturing floor daily to identify and resolve delays, bottlenecks, and at-risk work orders
  • Coordinate with Production, Materials, Quality, Planning, and Program Management teams to maintain workflow
  • Track aging work orders and prioritize actions to improve throughput
  • Support the resolution of missing parts, documentation issues, and resource constraints
  • Review and reconcile work order status between MES and ERP systems
  • Ensure physical production progress aligns with system records
  • Participate in daily production meetings and provide updates on critical orders
  • Follow up on open action items and drive timely completion
  • Escalate production risks and delays to management as needed

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), Contract Manufacturing (CM), or similar production environment
  • Hands-on experience working on or supporting a manufacturing floor
  • Experience managing, tracking, or expediting production work orders
  • Familiarity with ERP and/or MES systems
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Experience coordinating across multiple departments within manufacturing operations
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment

Preferred

  • Experience with PCMRP or similar manufacturing ERP systems
  • Production planning or scheduling experience
  • Materials coordination experience
  • PCB assembly or electronics manufacturing experience
  • Experience reducing aging WIP and resolving production bottlenecks
