About the role:

The Planner/Expeditor is responsible for both developing supply and production plans and ensuring their successful execution. This role balances demand, inventory, and capacity while proactively resolving material shortages, delays, and disruptions to maintain on-time delivery and operational continuity.

Work Model: M-F (8:00am-5:00pm)

What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain production and/or supply plans based on demand forecasts and customer orders.
  • Run MRP and manage planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, lot sizes).
  • Align supply plans with capacity constraints (labor, equipment, materials).
  • Monitor inventory levels to meet service targets while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
  • Identify risks (supplier constraints, demand variability) and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support S&OP and cross-functional planning alignment.
  • Track open orders, material availability, and production progress against plan.
  • Proactively identify shortages, late deliveries, and potential line stoppages.
  • Expedite critical materials and adjust priorities to support production needs.
  • Follow up with suppliers, procurement, operations, and logistics to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Resolve disruptions quickly and escalate when necessary.
  • Communicate real-time status updates and risks to stakeholders.
  • Act as the key link between planning, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics.
  • Balance competing priorities (customer demand, inventory targets, capacity limits).
  • Drive alignment on priorities and recovery plans during constraints.
  • Maintain accurate ERP/MRP data to support both planning and execution.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (can shift from strategy to firefighting quickly).
  • High sense of urgency with excellent follow-up and accountability.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of supply chain concepts (planning, inventory, logistics, production flow).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
