We are currently searching for a Sales Planner Expeditor for our client located in Birmingham, AL.

Our client's new division based in Birmingham, AL, combines all Plant and Industrial Products in a single customer-focused package. They offer comprehensive solutions through an experienced team of professionals specifically focused on these two special markets. Their Mission is to be the Plant and Industrial supplier who is easiest to do business with. They will make it easier to engineer, specify, and order components for plants. They will provide greater support for smoother delivery, cost-effective installation, and start-up. Most importantly, they will build strong relationships with design engineers, contractors, plant operations teams and project owners to assure they are their first-choice supplier for both new construction and future upgrades.

The Sales Planner Expeditor plays a crucial role in supporting the sales team by coordinating and expediting sales orders, ensuring timely delivery, and optimizing workflow processes. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments, including sales, logistics, and procurement. The Sales Planner Expeditor monitors inventory levels, tracks order fulfillment, and resolves any delays or discrepancies to maintain customer satisfaction by providing direction to production facilities on order of importance.

In this role you will:

  • Ensure timely entry of vendor purchase orders.
  • Monitor order status, identify potential delays, and communicate order updates to the commercial organization.
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely order fulfillment with authority to make changes necessary adjustments to achieve target.
  • Track inventory levels and identify potential stock shortages.
  • Collaborate with purchasing teams to ensure timely material procurement.
  • Monitor product availability and communicate potential delays to the commercial organization.
  • Provide the sales organization with accurate delivery estimates and order status updates through ERP date management.
  • Communicate customer requirements to production teams.
  • Owner and decision maker of items that qualify as true expedites.
  • Monitor production schedules and flag potential bottlenecks.
  • Work with production managers to prioritize orders and optimize production flow.
  • Generate reports on sales order status, delivery timelines, and inventory levels.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.

  • Grow professional relationships with various internal and external production facilties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain mgmt. or industrial distribution
  • Seeking candidates with 2-5 years of experience in supply chain, production planning, logistics, inventory management, order fulfillment, or customer service within a manufacturing environment.
  • Responsible for coordinating between Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Logistics to ensure on-time order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
  • Must be skilled at managing and expediting customer orders, prioritizing urgent requests, and communicating order status and delivery updates.
  • Strong experience with inventory tracking, production scheduling, and material availability management preferred.
  • Requires excellent organization, problem-solving, communication, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using ERP systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Excel is strongly preferred.
  • Ideal candidate can analyze data, identify trends, resolve delays, and provide recommendations to improve planning and operational efficiency.
  • Prefer someone that is advanced in Microsoft Excel and has some Power BI experience.
  • Manufacturing, industrial distribution, construction products, building materials, or related industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Looking for a collaborative professional who can build relationships across multiple production facilities and internal teams while serving as the decision-maker for true expedite situations.
