Job description

Ascentec Engineering is seeking an Expeditor for our Dallas, Oregon facility who will be responsible for actively driving follow-up on urgent material, supplier, job, and production constraints that impact schedule execution and customer delivery commitments. This role supports planning, scheduling, purchasing, production, inventory control, and quality by identifying blockers, obtaining status updates, and helping move priority work through the system.
The Expeditor does not own the master schedule but plays a critical role in protecting the schedule by ensuring late, urgent, or constrained items receive timely attention and action. This position supports past due recovery, shortage resolution, job movement, PO follow-up, and escalation of issues that prevent production from executing as planned.
This position is on-site (not remote/not hybrid) and not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.
Requirements
1. Material and Supplier Expediting
• Follow-up on late, urgent, or at-risk purchase orders that impact production schedules
• Coordinate with purchasing to obtain supplier status, updated promise dates, and recovery plans
• Escalate supplier delays that may impact customer commitments or production priorities
• Monitor material shortage reports and help drive timely updates
• Support dock, receiving, inspection, and inventory follow-up when expedited material arrives
• Communicate material recovery status to planning, scheduling, and production teams
2. Production Job Expediting

• Follow up with responsible parties to ensure actions are completed timely
• Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate planner, scheduler, buyer, or manager
• Support daily shortage meetings, production meetings, and past due recovery reviews
• Help ensure urgent issues do not get lost between departments
4. System and Report Updates
• Use Epicor Kinetic, Planet Together APS, Excel, and other reports to identify late or at-risk items
• Update trackers, comments, notes, or status fields as required by department process
• Ensure expediting status is clear, current, and visible to stakeholders
• Identify data discrepancies that impact expediting accuracy and escalate for correction
• Support cleanup of open actions related to shortages, late Pos, job holds, or past due work
5. Cross-Functional Communication
• Communicate regularly with purchasing, planning, scheduling, production, inventory control, quality, and receiving
• Provide clear and timely status updates on critical items
• Help coordinate handoffs between departments when urgent work requires immediate attention
• Support customer escalation responses by providing current internal status and recovery timing
• Build strong working relationships across the shop floor and support teams

• Identify recurring causes of expedited work, late supply, or blocked jobs
• Provide feedback to planners, schedulers, buyers, and managers on process gaps
• Support improvements to shortage review, job tracking, receiving flow, and escalation processes
• Help document expediting processes and standard work
• Promote proactive issue resolution instead of reactive fire fighting
