Overview

VTGย is currently seeking a Material Expediter to join our team in San Diego, CA at NAS North Island.


What will you do?

The Material Expediter executes the following: locates and moves materials and parts between work areas of plant to expedite processing of goods, according to pre-determined schedules and priorities, and keeps related record, reviews production schedules inventory reports, and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders, confers with department supervisors to determine materials overdue and to inform them of location, availability, and condition of materials, locates and moves materials to specified production areas, using cart or hand truck, and records quantity and type of materials distributed and on hand. Work may include the following tasks: directing Power-Truck Operator or Material Handling Laborer to expedite movement of materials between storage and production areas, compare work ticket specifications with material at work stations to verify appropriateness of material in use, prepare worker production records and timecards, and may update and maintain inventory records, using computer terminal.

  • You will fulfill the responsibilities of a material Handler and a Material Expediter.
  • You will be responsible for material control, inventory, and physical accountability of materials.
  • You will be responsible for keeping inventory management databases updated with current material status.
  • You will perform all functions required to receive, store, issue inventory, ship, and maintain material.
  • You will coordinate a supply system that stages, stores, rejects, disposes of, and holds material in accordance with governing instructions.

  • Education: Successful completion of high school is preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working in a Material Expediter role of a similar scope and size is preferred.
  • Other Qualifications:
    • This position requires skills such as walking, running, climbing, crawling, jumping and other similar physical activities.
    • The worker must be able to endure extreme climate conditions and be able to work in an outdoor setting

VTGโ€™s base pay range is $31.00ย per hour, which is a general guideline for the geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or market considerations.
