Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Restaurant Expeditor will serve as the key link between the kitchen and front-of-house staff. The Restaurant Expeditor ensures that all food orders are prepared, plated, and delivered correctly and promptly, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. This role is vital in keeping service flowing smoothly, especially during busy shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the liaison between the kitchen and serving staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food.
  • Review and organize tickets/orders; prioritize dishes according to service needs.
  • Inspect finished dishes for accuracy, temperature, presentation, and portion size.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and wait staff to coordinate food timing and modifications.
  • Ensure garnishes, sauces, and other components are added correctly before the food leaves the kitchen.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the expediting area.
  • Address any issues or delays in the food line quickly and professionally.
  • Monitor and report any inconsistencies or concerns to the chef or manager on duty.
  • Support kitchen and service teams as needed during peak times.
  • Perform other job related and compatible duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, especially in a kitchen or service role, is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to stay calm and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for food quality and presentation.
  • Team player with a positive, customer-focused attitude.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Starting pay is $15.00/hour plus sign on bonus with benefits available including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance as well as paid time off. Candidates must be 18 or older and able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
