Job description

Runner is seeking an Administration Manager to oversee publishing administration and acquisition integration across Runner Acquisitions and Runner Music Group, splitting time between the two, reporting to the Director, Corporate Development. The role is also responsible for managing a high volume of moving pieces across catalog operations, royalty administration, rights management, and acquisition workstreams, ensuring clients, partners, and internal teams receive responsive, precise support.

Candidates will preferably be based in Nashville, but candidates near Runner employee hubs are also encouraged to apply.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Manage songwriter splits, prepare copyright registrations, and liaise directly with administration partners to maintain publisher redirects and ownership updates.
  • Proactively identify and resolve registration conflicts, ownership discrepancies, and metadata inconsistencies with external partners.
  • Review royalty statements from administrators, sub-publishers, and collection societies ensuring statements are received on schedule, accurate, and processed in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate royalty reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, support audits, and maintain the integrity of publishing data across the catalog.
  • Support neighboring rights, mechanical licensing, synchronization administration, ownership research, chain-of-title verification, and ongoing catalog maintenance.
  • Manage operational execution of catalog acquisitions, coordinating administrative workstreams from due diligence through post-closing integration with the Director of Corporate Development, legal counsel, finance, and sellers.
  • Organize acquisition documentation, validate metadata and ownership information, coordinate rights transfers and registrations, and integrate newly acquired catalogs into Runner's operational infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain relationships with writers, publishers, administrators, collection societies, attorneys, and financial partners, adapting communication style to each audience.
  • Identify operational challenges, recommend practical solutions, and help develop scalable processes as the company grows.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

What Makes You Qualified:

  • 3+ years of experience in music publishing administration.
  • Strong understanding of global publishing infrastructure, copyright registrations, collection societies, royalty administration, publishing metadata, ownership structures, and CWR workflows.
  • Comfortable solving complex problems, following up, and respectfully challenging assumptions to ensure the right outcome.
  • Strong communicator across all levels, from independent songwriters to major publishers, outside counsel, and senior executives.
  • Highly organized, naturally curious, and exceptionally dependable, with strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365.
  • Interest in learning, improving processes, and contributing.
  • Experience with catalog acquisitions, neighboring rights, royalty processing systems, or international publishing administration is considered an asset.
