Job description

Runner Job Description: Hourly + TIPS

Prior Runner or Valet Experience a plus.

A Runner serves as an intermediate between the prepared food orders and the guest. Food runners communicate with the food Expo/Dispatcher to deliver the proper, complete orders quickly and accurately and presented to the guest as beautifully as possible. The Runners will also have order-taking capabilities and will be well versed in all menu items, restaurant procedures, and relevant company information to guide the guests through the experience.

The Runner makes sure the orders are being delivered in a timely fashion while it's fresh. Expeditors are also in charge of the final presentation of the plate and completion of the order, making sure the guest has everything they need before moving on.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Deliver all product in a clean, orderly, concise and timely manner.
  • Know all relative information and be prepared to take additional orders and answer any questions.
  • Coordinate and communicate with the dispatcher and or expo to ensure timely and accurate delivery of dishes.
  • Ensure that all dishes meet the highest quality and presentation standards before they are served.
  • Assist in managing order flow and timing to provide an exceptional dining experience.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Monitor and ensure we are meeting Health and Safety standards.
  • Help front and back of house employees to accommodate our guests with any special requests to enhance their dining experience.
  • Skills
  • Experience in a kitchen or fine dining service environment is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on hospitality.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fastpaced setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with restaurant operations, including banquets and catering services, is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • New Restaurant Opening experience is a plus!
  • Familiarity with KDS systems preferred.
