Welcome to George & Gather, a gourmet hangout in Chandler, serving up from-scratch fare made with clean, organic ingredients. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Line Cook to join our team and be part of a welcoming space that offers a nourishing dining experience.

Position Summary

The Head Kitchen Expediter is a key leadership role responsible for managing the flow of food during service, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timing across all stations. This position serves as the communication hub between the kitchen and front of house, setting the pace of service and supporting the culinary team to execute at a high level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the expo line during service, calling tickets and controlling the pace of the kitchen
  • Ensure all dishes meet quality, accuracy, and presentation standards before leaving the pass
  • Act as the primary communication link between BOH and FOH, managing ticket timing, modifications, and allergies
  • Prioritize orders to maintain smooth service during peak periods
  • Coach, support, and guide line cooks in real time to improve execution and consistency
  • Identify and resolve service issues quickly, including refires and delays
  • Communicate 86’d items, menu changes, and service challenges clearly to the team
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient expo station
  • Support leadership with training, standards enforcement, and service preparation as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an expediter, line lead, or senior line cook
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food execution
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to stay calm, focused, and decisive in a fast-paced environment
