Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Exercise Physiologist, you will provide direct, safe, and best-practice driven care primarily in cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation, collaborating extensively with a multi-disciplinary team, cardiologists, and various hospital staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Every day you will establish and update individualized exercise prescriptions, orient patients to equipment and safety protocols, and conduct functional fitness testing and body composition analysis. You will provide essential patient and family education, supervise and monitor exercise sessions, meticulously document and maintain current clinical data and program records, adjusting treatment plans as appropriate.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a deep understanding of patient needs, consistently working collaboratively in a diverse and multicultural environment. You will effectively partner with physicians and clinical staff in goal-setting, consistently utilizing work practices aligned with safety, security, and infection control policies, all while actively contributing to a positive quality work environment.

  • Screen, assess and disseminate patients for program eligibility and appropriateness.
  • Evaluate and deliver Phase I care for eligible populations in accordance with departmental policy and procedures
  • Assess, intervene and track outcomes in Phase II programs in line with AACVPR recommendations and core competencies.
  • Risk stratification of patients to triage appropriate treatment plan, exercise prescription, program progression and education plan for all patients.
  • Monitor, evaluate and manage ECG, hemodynamics and general patient safety during exercise in all phases of care.
  • Assist patients in goal setting and outcomes management in accordance with AACVPR and department standards

  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
