Note: This role is a part of our Travel region. Current project locations are in Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio and Indiana, with future projects in the Midwest and Southern US.

Summary:

The Project Executive will lead Project Teams in the successful completion of construction projects, from the initial hand-off from Estimating through final completion and close-out. This position will coach the Project Management Team in overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, project control and compliance. The descriptions below are representative of, but not limited to, the duties and responsibilities for this position.


Five Key Roles of the Project Executive:

  • Directly manage the Project Management team for designated region or service. This includes mentoring and coaching to improve the overall function and caliber of team members.
  • Collaboratively work with Directors of Construction and Field Supervision to plan and execute projects under budget and ahead of schedule.
  • Lead a weekly meeting with Directors of Construction to identify, discuss, and solve issues related to estimating, project management, and field operations.
  • Act as the Fessler & Bowman Inc. spokesperson for elevated project issues, addressing immediate concerns with the Regional Director when necessary for remediation.
  • Ensure that there is a consistent level of performance among the team that meets and exceeds our clients expectations, both internal and external.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Validate production metrics and durations during the project bid phase.
  • Organizing and planning for the safe and efficient execution of projects.
  • Developing the project team and holding each member accountable for their assignment.
  • Solving problems, as they arise, by leveraging internal and external knowledge and resources to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Work with field operations management to provide solutions to their equipment and staffing needs.
  • Participate in team-based estimating as it relates to key projects.
  • Provide risk management support to the project teams, including early identification and mitigation of project-related risk.
  • Communicating and upholding the Company's commitment to Integrity and Code of Ethics, as well as ensuring the same for the entire team.
  • Other relevant tasks as assigned.


Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred, or equivalent in training and experience.
  • At least ten (10) years of project management experience.
  • Experience with leading or mentoring a team.
  • Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals.



Travel:

Travel to and from job sites and office locations is required for this position. Fessler & Bowman will compensate for travel when applicable.


Work Environment:

As a Project Executive, you will be subject to various work environments. Environments include but are not limited to the following: office and field settings, high/low temperatures, areas close to traffic, loud and frequent noises, confined spaces, heights, indoor/outdoor settings.
