Job description

We're looking for an experienced Enterprise Account Executive to drive growth across State, Local Government, and Higher Education (SLED) organizations within the Southeast Region. This is a strategic, new business sales role responsible for developing executive relationships, building qualified pipeline, navigating complex procurement processes, and partnering with customers to improve their cybersecurity posture through Corelight's Network Detection and Response platform.

You'll work closely with Sales Engineering, Channel Partners, Customer Success, and Sales Leadership to help some of the world's most important public sector organizations strengthen their cyber defenses.

What You'll Do

  • Own and grow a defined SLED territory by developing and executing strategic account and territory plans.
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across state agencies, local governments, and higher education institutions.
  • Build trusted relationships with CISOs, CIOs, security leaders, IT organizations, procurement teams, and executive stakeholders.
  • Lead complex, multi-threaded enterprise sales cycles from initial engagement through contract execution.
  • Navigate public sector procurement processes, purchasing vehicles, RFPs, and contract negotiations.
  • Partner closely with Sales Engineers to deliver compelling technical demonstrations and business value.
  • Collaborate with channel partners to generate pipeline, expand customer relationships, and accelerate opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, opportunity hygiene, and forecast accuracy within Salesforce.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Leadership to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Represent Corelight at customer meetings, partner engagements, and industry events throughout your territory.

What You'll Bring

  • 8+ years of enterprise technology or cybersecurity sales experience with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding quota.
  • 2+ years of experience selling into State, Local Government, and Higher Education (SLED) organizations.
  • Experience managing complex enterprise sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and executive decision makers.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business through strategic territory planning and account management.
  • Experience navigating public sector procurement processes, purchasing vehicles, RFPs, and long buying cycles.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences.
  • Experience selling cybersecurity, network infrastructure, cloud security, or adjacent enterprise technologies.
  • Familiarity with structured enterprise sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC, MEDDIC, Challenger, or similar frameworks.
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset with experience partnering across Sales Engineering, Channel, Customer Success, and Product organizations.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
