Events Operations Manager at SpotHero:

SpotHero is looking for an Events Operations Manager to lead events operations and oversee the performance and inventory management of event-related parking operations across ticketed and non-ticketed events. This hands-on people manager role leads the events operations team while owning the end-to-end identification, scoping, execution, and outcome tracking of event parking optimization opportunities. 

The Events Operations Manager  sits at the intersection of Operations, Analytics, Sales, Marketing, and Fraud Prevention, ensuring that event demand is effectively captured, monitored, and converted into revenue opportunities. They will play a critical role in maximizing Gross Order Value (GOV) for events while improving event coverage, inventory reliability, and overall marketplace performance.

What You'll Do

EVENTS OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

Operations & Monitoring

  • Monitor and manage event coverage to ensure all relevant events are accurately captured and scheduled within internal systems.
  • Identify and resolve operational failures related to event ingestion, scheduling, or inventory availability.
  • Oversee both ticketed and non-ticketed event operations to ensure marketplace readiness and visibility.
  • Monitor contracted inventory allocations to ensure expected inventory is received and accurately reflected in the platform.

Performance & Revenue Optimization

  • Analyze event conversion trends and performance metrics to maximize event-related GOV.
  • Monitor event sellout velocity and conversion rates to identify optimization opportunities before and during events.
  • Scope, lead, and execute optimization projects from identification through completion, including defining success metrics, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and documenting outcomes.
  • Identify missed demand opportunities and action operational inefficiencies impacting conversion performance, looping in Revenue Analytics for deeper reporting needs.

Marketplace Integrity

  • Help identify fraudulent activity, unwanted reseller behavior, and marketplace abuse related to event inventory.
  • Partner with internal teams to flag suspicious inventory patterns and recommend operational safeguards.

Demand Analysis & Supply Strategy

  • Measure search demand and identify areas where user demand is going uncaptured due to insufficient supply or lack of official parking inventory.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to Sales and Business Development teams regarding opportunities to secure additional event supply or official partnerships.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing teams to provide recommendations for event-related SEM keyword targeting and SEO content opportunities.
  • Product & Tooling Collaboration: 
    • Partner with the Verticals Squad to surface operational pain points, provide structured feedback on existing tools and workflows, and participate in QA testing of new features before release.
    • Contribute to roadmap prioritization by translating day-to-day operational gaps into clearly defined product needs and use cases.
    • Serve as a key operational voice in product discussions where event operations tooling is being developed or improved.
  • Collaborate with Analytics, Sales, and Marketing stakeholders to improve event operations workflows and marketplace performance.
  • Support ongoing process improvements through operational reporting, tooling enhancements, and scalable workflows.

People Management

  • Hire, onboard, and develop team members, setting clear expectations and a clear path to make measurable impact
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, workload prioritization, and operational oversight.
  • Run regular 1:1s, performance reviews, build individual development plans, and hold career development conversations; identify coaching opportunities and training needs.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, excellence, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

  • 3-6+ years of experience in marketplace operations, event operations, or a related field.
  • Experience leading, managing, and mentoring a team
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to take an ambiguous operational problem from identification through execution and resolution with minimal oversight.
  • Strong analytical and technical aptitude with experience interpreting operational and conversion data.
  • Experience working with large datasets, reporting tools, or  business intelligence platforms preferred.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple operational workflows simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in marketplaces, ticketing, events, parking, or e-commerce environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with fraud detection, inventory operations, or conversion optimization is preferred.
  • Familiarity with professional and collegiate sporting event structures, playoff formats, and ticketed event calendars is preferred.

Compensation in Illinois:

  • Depending on your skillset and experience, you can expect your base salary to be between $96,000 - $120,000 as well as a discretionary bonus and leading total rewards package including stock options.
