Coordinator of Special Events
St. Ambrose University seeks a highly organized and relationship-focused professional to develop and execute alumni and community engagement initiatives. This role supports strategic efforts to increase alumni participation, strengthen donor engagement, and deliver meaningful, high-quality events.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and execution of alumni and community engagement programming.
  • Plan and manage events from start to finish, including Homecoming/Reunion and Bee Happy Hour.
  • Coordinate vendors, campus partners, and volunteers; develop promotional materials; complete event reporting and tracking.
  • Execute special events aligned with institutional priorities (e.g., McMullen Awards).
  • Assist with donor events, including Day of Giving and Wine Festival (planning, marketing, auctions).
  • Build relationships with alumni and donors; support engagement and solicitation initiatives.
  • Assist with student engagement programming, Senior Reception, and annual giving efforts.
  • Maintain accurate data entry and reporting; ensure data integrity in advancement systems.
  • Support events requiring occasional evenings, weekends, and limited travel.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree OR 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • High attention to detail with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with (or willingness to learn) CRM systems such as Ellucian Colleague Advancement.
