What is a special events assistant?

A special events assistant may work with an event planner or for a business, such as a hotel or a restaurant. In this career, you assist with special events hosted by your employer. At a restaurant, for example, these events could include a corporate luncheon or office party, a wedding rehearsal dinner, a birthday celebration, or a family reunion. You help set up the facility for the event, direct guests to the appropriate place, and cater to guest needs during the party. This job is very similar to a regular events assistant, but it is more common to find these jobs with a venue than a third-party event planner.
