Job description

The objective of the Landscape Sales and Production Manager is to sell and manage the landscape work in a professional and courteous manor; always following our Mission, Vision, and Core Values.

Specific duties include:

Office and Landscape Duties:
-Work in a professional and efficient manor at all times. Work uniforms should be worn with the C&T logo visible. Your actions should set a great example of how crew members are supposed to work and behave.
-Go on estimates, timed and untimed, for all services that C&T provides. Prepare and present estimates and drawings as needed, based on our rates. Be, or become, proficient with UVision 3D Design software.
-Schedule work for landscape and enhancement crews, along with the owner, on the schedule board and daily lists. Talk daily with the owner about each days progress, the next days schedule, and any issues that may arise.
-Order and secure all materials needed for upcoming jobs on time and on budget.
-Work with office manager to make sure customers are well informed of their job schedule and that underground utilities are called.
-Prepare the job’s paperwork in advance so they go smooth. (Such as: invoices, care instructions for customer, drawings for crew, pictures, material list, equipment list, neighbor cards)
-Visit every active landscape job normally once a day and make sure the crew is on track and the quality of the job is maintained. Touch base with the customer if they are available when on the job. Ensure customer satisfaction and payment is collected. Problem solve with crews on jobs when problems arise and help them resolve any issues. Take before/after pictures for facebook/website/etc. and forward to Office Manager to put on server.
-Job cost every landscape job and review with office staff at weekly staff meeting.
-Participate and provide feedback at weekly office staff meetings.
-Help landscape and enhancement crews get loaded and out the door on time each morning.
-Help train new crew members in the way work is done at C&T to maintain professionalism and quality.
-Work with crew leader and owner on crew equipment needs. Protect all C&T equipment, trucks, trailers, and property at all times.
-Attend training and seminars and community/industry functions as requested or as needed.
-Work in conjunction with owner and help manage the weekly company-wide meeting covering safety, training, and team building.
-Have, or be able to get, Fertilizer license from the Illinois Dept of Agriculture.
-Work with others to take additional responsibility when someone else is out of the office. All planned days off require at least one month notice at the weekly staff meeting and will be given based on work load, availability, and the ability of others to cover.
-Perform other duties as needed or assigned by the owner.

Snow Season Duties:
-Work with owner to plan and organize crews, rates, and bids in advance of the winter season. Work with owner to secure needed products and equipment.
-Schedule crews with owner for each storm balancing the customer needs with the budget.
-Make sure crews are routed efficiently based on snow storm and calls coming in. Work with owner by keeping the message phone during non-office hours and promptly return calls.
-Track and Manage crews while they area out performing services. Problem solve with the crews as needed (manage breakdowns, repairs, re-routing crews as needed)
-Train salters/plowers as needed. Plow or salt as needed to help crews finish on time.
-Check lots as needed to make sure they are plowed the way they should be, fix any issues, and train so they do not happen again.

Varia:
-The landscape sales and production manager will perform other duties as needed or assigned by the owner in line with our mission, vision, and core values.
-The landscape sales and production manager has a non-disclosure and non-compete agreement in place to protect the company and its intangible assets.

Compensation:
-Base Salary
-Commission
-Landscape Jobs: 5% commission on Net Profit of sold and managed jobs paid in full
-Maintenance Jobs: The value of 1 cut for a customer who is with us 6 weeks or more.
-Snow Event: 3% commission on Net profit of each managed full call out snow event.
-2 weeks paid vacation
-Health insurance after 30 days of employment $70 per month for employee. $90 per month for qualified spouse and $90 per month for qualified children
-Company vehicle to use and take home at night
-Company cell phone
-Uniform allowance of $185 per year
