Summary/Objective
Solicit, plan, and help execute large, high-end full service social, corporate, non-profit, and educational events.ย  Serve as a primary Elephants Catering contact for large venue partners and clients.ย  Manage and attend all related event and catering trade shows.ย 


Essential Functions*ย

  • Upholding Elephants Delicatessen's Core Values: Standard of Excellence, Unity, and Sustainability, as outlined in the employee handbook.ย 
  • Create, input, and maintain orders into catering software program.
  • Receive payments and handle final billings.ย 
  • Plan large events for the Catering team from start to finish, utilizing in-house and outside resources.ย 
  • Stay up to date on trends in catering by forming relationships with catering competitors.ย ย 
  • Participate on-site at events when required.ย 
  • Assist in procuring partner venues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environmentย 

  • Position is required to work on-site in a typical office setting.
  • Typically, maintains a low to moderate noise level.
  • Work may involve exposure to dust, mold, gluten, fragrances and other fumes and airborne particles,?fresh fruits, vegetables, house plants, and flowers.
  • Working in proximity to and using common commercial cleaning agents.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.ย 


Position Type/Expected Hours of Workย 

This is a full-time position scheduled for 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work vary but typically run 9 am - 5 pm, 5 days per week and flexible schedule is required. Some weekends are required. Additional training and/or education hours may be required.ย 

Requirements

Required Education and Experienceย 

Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of four (4) years of experience in inside/outside sales or call center environment.

Documented success in completion of goals and objectives.

Computer competence in Word, Excel, Outlook.

Current OR Food Handler's Certification.

Clean driving record, active driver's license and access to one's own working vehicle.


Preferred Education and Experienceย 

Knowledge of Caterease or other event space planning software.

Prior wedding planning experience.
