Job description

Role Purpose:
The Employee Relations (ER) Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of employee relations cases, coaching and developing ER Managers, ensuring consistent policy application, and supporting the development and implementation of ER strategies across the organisation. The role ensures compliant, fair and timely resolution of ER matters.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Employee / Industrial Relations
• Lead, allocate, and oversee ER case handling across the team, ensuring adherence to policy, timelines and quality standards
• Oversee and personally manage ER cases, including misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and policy breaches
• Monitor team's compliance with employment laws and regulatory requirements, escalating risks where necessary
• Provide support to team on complex and high-risk ER cases
• Partner with Regional ER Lead to ensure clear case handoffs and integrated process execution
• Build team capability in investigations, documentation, policy knowledge and case tracking
• Maintain and oversee ER case management systems, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting

2. Medical Accommodations
• Oversee medical accommodation cases from intake through to closure, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant case handling
• Monitor team's capability in managing accommodations effectively and sensitively
• Facilitate interactive discussions with employees, HR, managers and medical experts to determine appropriate, feasible accommodations
• Maintain compliance with medical accommodation related laws and internal ER policies (e.g. reasonable adjustments, disability-related adjustments)

3. Corrective Action
• Ensure that all corrective action cases are managed fairly, consistently in line with ER policies, legal standards and CSL governance
• Advise and coach ER team on corrective action cases; including, progressive discipline, and performance improvement plans
• Determine when formal investigations are required and progressive steps
4. Special Projects / Administration
• Ensure ER processes are accurately followed and ER systems are properly maintained
• Prepare briefing documents to support leadership discussions/decision making
• Support ER training coordination and delivery
• Update ER case dashboards, trackers and support data gathering
Core Capabilities:
• 7+ years of experience in HR, Employee Relations, Employment Law, or Industrial Relations within a complex, global organization.
• Advance expertise in employee relations, including investigations, conflict resolution, grievances and disciplinary management
• Strong knowledge of employment and labour law, regulatory compliance, and risk management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-influencing skills; ability to navigate complex and sensitive cases with discretion
• High discretion, sound judgment, and ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters.
• Operational discipline in case management, reporting, and process improvement.
• Results-oriented, organized, and solutions-driven mindset.
