IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for Underwriter from our Scottsdale, Arizona location.
This role will be tasked with underwriting the company's risk profile to achieve objectives for profitable growth and maintain an acceptable loss ratio.
This role works a hybrid schedule that requires working from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.
Responsibilities:
  • You will underwrite and drive profitable growth within assigned authority while aligning to broader organizational objectives and risk appetite.
  • Collaborate to cultivate, strengthen, and strategically manage agency relationships, identifying opportunities for growth and addressing performance gaps with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate underwriting guidelines, governance standards, and regulatory requirements to support consistent and compliant decision-making.
  • Leverage data, tools, and analytics to evaluate risk, generate insights, and support balanced underwriting decisions.
  • Analyze applications, financials, loss history, and third-party data to produce comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across verbal, written, and digital channels to maintain alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and articulate value propositions to support business development and partner engagement.
  • Deliver responsive, customer-focused service to internal teams and external partners, reinforcing a high-performance service culture.
  • Partner with distribution channels to enhance market presence, promote capabilities, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Utilize metrics and performance data to continuously optimize territory outcomes and support strategic objectives.
  • Maintain awareness of market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscape to inform decision-making and drive results.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:
Must-Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of relevant commercial Property and Casualty underwriting experience.
  • Must have the ability to react and respond quickly and professionally.
  • Must provide creative, analytical, and innovative thinking to inure to productive problem-solving.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.
