Job description

The Associate Underwriter at Novatae Risk Group is a critical role within our Wholesale Insurance division, responsible for supporting the underwriting team in assessing, evaluating, and managing risks associated with insurance submissions. The Associate Underwriter will manage a substantial book of renewal business while also handling tasks associated with new and renewal accounts.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review insurance applications, loss runs, financial statements, and supporting documentation
  • Analyze risk characteristics and assist in underwriting decisions within established guidelines
  • Prepare quotes, binders, endorsements, and policy documentation
  • Support senior underwriters in managing renewals and new business submissions
  • Maintain accurate underwriting files and documentation in agency management and underwriting systems
  • Communicate with brokers, agents, and clients regarding underwriting requirements and policy information
  • Monitor pending items, renewals, and follow-up activities to meet service standards
  • Assist with portfolio analysis, reporting, and data entry
  • Ensure compliance with company underwriting guidelines, regulatory standards, and internal procedures

Qualifications
Education/Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and / 1-3 years of insurance, underwriting, banking, finance, or related analytical experience
  • Relevant insurance coursework, certifications, or internships are a plus
  • Progress toward industry designations such as CPCU, AU, or ARM is preferred but not required
